Turner is recognized globally for his expertise in tall building design within urban design and the delivery of award-winning commercial office, hospitality, mixed-use, and residential buildings. He has led the design and delivery of projects in Asia, the Middle East, and well as in Europe and the United States.

While at SOM as an associate partner, Turner directed design efforts for the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, developing conceptual, schematic through detail design phases. His design approach seeks to move building performance beyond net zero energy and towards creating self-sufficient, regenerative buildings that contribute to resources of local communities.

“I am excited by the opportunity to establish and grow a tall building practice at DLR Group,” said Turner. “DLR Group designers are ambitious and collaborative which is what you don’t find at many of the conventional firms that are doing super high rise. I am invigorated by the design culture of employee-ownership. I believe it is the ideal foundation to build a practice upon to generate growth for clients and for our employee-owners.”

Turner is a member of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, and consulted with Rawson Marshall Thurber, director of the Hollywood movie “Skyscraper”, sharing design considerations for concepts of the movie’s super tall tower.
